Salans has actively advised clients in Ukraine since 1988 when our lawyers assisted a multinational client in the creation of one of the first joint ventures in Ukraine. We officially opened our Kyiv office in 1992, and since then it has expanded considerably with the addition of Western-trained and Ukrainian-trained lawyers and partners, as well as with support from our firm's London and Paris office partners who regularly advise clients doing business in Ukraine, including supporting clients setting up branches and representative offices in Ukraine.
Our Approach
In the current circumstances of the global credit crisis, our lawyers in Kyiv support clients on matters relating to corporate restructuring, debt and equity restructuring, local employment matters, insolvency, and dispute resolution.
Lawyers in the Kyiv office regularly engage in negotiations on behalf of clients with governmental institutions such as the State Property Fund, Anti-Monopoly Committee, National Bank, and State Securities and Stock Market Commission.

In 2008 Salans was acknowledged as the Best Law Firm in Real Estate in Ukraine and received the National Legal Award for 2008 in this area.
In 2009 Salans Kyiv was recognized as the Most Trusted Law Firm of the Year in Ukraine by ACQ Finance Magazine, the leading international publication for M&A industry, and won the ACQ Country Award for Achievement.
Salans has been shortlisted to win the Chambers Europe Award for Excellence 2009 for Ukraine. This is the first year when law firms from Ukraine have been nominated for this award.
Salans was acknowledged Banking & Finance Law Firm of the Year in Ukraine in 2010 and won the Corporate INTL Magazine Global Award 2010 in this area.
