Salans’ Information Technology and E-commerce (ITE) group has been advising clients for over 20 years on both the customer and supply side on major issues relating to computer and information technology legislation and regulation.  ITE is currently one of the most rapidly changing areas of the law.

Our Approach

Our ITE group works closely with our Media and Telecommunications sector groups to support those of our clients who are involved in new technologies.

Our technology lawyers are frequent speakers at national and international conferences on IT and computer law. Many have published books and articles in this field.  Legislators regularly consult with our experts regarding proposed changes in the law.

We have been involved in proceedings on unprecedented legal questions such as ISP liability and private copying via the internet. We act as cyber-mediators and often as cyber-arbitrators in WIPO proceedings concerning domain names.
